What is DISC?
DISC is an acronym that stands for the four main personality profiles described in the DISC model: (D)ominance, (I)nfluence, (S)teadiness and (C)onscientiousness.
The DISC model of behaviour was originally proposed by William Moulton Marston, a physiological psychologist with a Ph.D. from Harvard.
DISC is designed to assess behavioural tendencies. It is the most accurate behavioural profiling system there is for personal development, team development and as a recruitment tool, to assist during the selection process. It also reveals people’s natural communication styles which leads to understanding, coherency and harmony.
How can DISC help me?
- Do you want to learn more about yourself and how you can adapt your behaviour?
- Have you ever wanted to really understand what makes someone tick?
- Would you like to understand how to better communicate with your team or other business professionals?
- Would you like to develop a cohesive team?
The benefits of knowing your DISC profile is that it can help improve your effectiveness in sales situations. Understanding and adapting to your customers’ styles is essential for connecting on a human level and seeing each other “eye to eye.”
Is DISC worth it?
DISC profiling will give you a real insight into your own behavioural tendencies and when necessary, those of a prospective team member. It is a simple process that gives you the tools to be able to hone in on how an individual prefers to be communicated with, and what their inner motivators are.
How does DISC work?
The initial assessment takes no more than 10 minutes to complete, and your 40-page document will be sent to you directly, usually within 24 hours. It is encouraged to complete it with a particular focus in mind (either work or personal life) depending on the purpose of sitting the assessment, and to answer instinctively.
