Maintain a successful and thriving business, whilst being present and dedicating time to your loved ones.

5 strategies to achieve harmony within both your household and your workplace.

#1 Presence

Whether you’re preparing for a launch event or celebrating your kid’s 3rd birthday – presence is something to be mindful of. We are unable to be in two places at once, trying to divide ourselves mentally and emotionally to get things done. This approach fails to give either situation the attention needed  to thrive. It also is a very quick way to make you and the people around you desperately unhappy.

Being present is something we hear often, but rarely take on board in our daily practice. By taking a breath, adjusting your perspective to focus on what you’re grateful for, and saying thank you are easy ways to regain presence and let people know you value them. This guarantees to cultivate a much healthier, happier relationship with your friends, family, and employees by being present.

#2 Communication

Being able to let the people around you know exactly what you need from them when you need it is key in maintaining balance. For a lot of smaller businesses, the pressure is placed on you to make sure your business thrives. You’re the captain of the ship, it’s up to you to communicate effectively with your partners, employees, family, and even yourself. Communicating your goals and needs clearly is a great way to set your expectations and hold yourself accountable for what you said you would achieve.

#3 Teamwork

Cultivating a sense of camaraderie in your workspace and home is an important part of family & business balance. As the business owner, you need to have a great support network. Your family and the people you have chosen to support you professionally are the ones you socialise with. It’s important to keep everyone (including yourself) happy! Building a great team is essential. Words of encouragement, acts of service, and gratitude for people’s presence are wonderful ways to maintain a great relationship in all areas of your life.

#4 Trust

One of the things we share is how to make a business work, so you don’t have to. Knowing a business is going to be ok without you is a sign of a successful and thriving enterprise. Building trust with employees is necessary for a  winning team. Trust within family is essential to any intimate relationship. Communication and setting clear expectations are both fundamental parts of building trust.

#5 Self-care

Everything good in life starts with you. Preventing burn-out by prioritising self-care is the most important way to maintain harmony in life. Ignoring your own mental or physical needs can lead to poor performance at work and at home.

It’s important to find time to recharge and fulfil your own needs. Unplugging from stress will help rejuvenate and refresh your mindset with more creativity, willpower, and ideas to take life head-on.

Having a mentor to guide you through managing and balancing  a company will cultivate a thriving business and maintain a balanced family life.
